Gnome-Town Heroes was designed by a mother-daughter team who felt inspired by the heroes we encounter in our everyday lives, from teachers to firemen.

Size: 36" x 44".

Notions:
  • 1 yd medium weight flat batting
Instructions:
  1. Cut out all pre-printed pieces along outer lines.
  2. Cut a piece of flat batting the same size as book cover. Pin and baste batting to wrong size of book cover.
  3. Pin page 1/10 to book cover with right sides together. Baste
  4. Stitch around book leaving an opening for turning as indicated (Diagram A)
  5. Clip corners. Turn right side out. Press.
  6. Turn under seam allowance at opening and slipstitch the opening closed.
  7. Cut 2 pieces of flat batting the same size as page 9/2.
  8. Pin and baste one piece of batting to wrong side of page 9/2.
  9. Place pages 9/2 to pages 3/8 right sides together. Baste. Stitch around edges leaving a section open for turning as indicated in (Diagram B).
  10. Clip corners. Turn right side out and press.
  11. Turn under seam allowance at opening and slipstitch the opening closed.
  12. Pin and baste remaining piece of batting to the wrong side of page 7/4.
  13. Place pages 7/4 to pages 5/6 right sides together. Stitch around edges leaving section open for turning as indicated (Diagram C).
  14. Clip corners. Turn right side out and press. Turn under seam allowance at opening and slipstitch the opening closed.
  15. Place book cover open on a flat surface with cover section 1/10 facing up.
  16. Place page section (9/2 and 3/8 combination) flat on top of 1/10 section. Page 3 and page 8 will face up.
  17. Place remaining page section (7/4 and 5/6 combination) flat on top of cover and first page section. Page 5 and page 6 will face up.
  18. Baste down center of book through all thicknesses to secure pages. Machine stitch on same center line (Diagram D).
Note:
Book cover is slightly larger than book pages. When finished, the book will measure about 9-1/4" x 9-1/2".
