Yoko Saito's Traditional Block Patterns
Techniques: English Paper Piecing, piecing, applique, embroidery, curved piecing
I LOVE Yoko Saito’s style and this is one of my favorite books! There are 66 block patterns broken down into 11 different categories, plus projects using them. I have never attempted to make one of her projects. I love to look at them in awe, admire them, and want to own them. This time though, since I know I can’t have a project unless I make it myself, I dove in and read about how she makes her blocks. There are a few, well there are actually several that I would love to make and two that I have to have! The Spool Cabinet wall hanging would look fantastic in my sewing room. I love birds. The project made with school house blocks, a picket fence border, and birdhouses is incredible! The possibilities are endless. Whether you use the Japanese taupe colors or use your own colors your project is going to be stunning. This book is a must have for me!
